Global Education Consultancy Services India( http://www.gecsindia.com) is a Bangalore-based company helping students to get admission in universities abroad. I tried to utilize their services for my son to get admission in a German Engineering University this year. They charge Rs 5000/- per university and say that the candidate’s profile is sent to the university BEFORE the candidate applies to the same. I applied for five universities and they SAID that admission would be secured in THREE universities, at least. Unfortunately, he could get admission in only ONE university which spelt his name incorrectly and GECS were unable to get the same corrected. When I took up with them regarding their intention to get at least admission in three universities, they said that they were no one to promise a seat for a candidate!
My experience shows that applying through GECS is a waste of money and it is better for the candidate to apply directly. If at all one wants to apply through GECS, please ask them to GIVE IN WRITING THEIR SCOPE OF WORK.
