Gmail stands for Google Mail. The beta version of the Googles free web based email offer, which is yet under the Testing Phase is going to the Future's best Web-based Email.
I have been using Gmail for the past one month and I have been really enjoying one of modern technology at its best even at the testing phase.
Gmail offers 1000MB (1GB) of email space, where you can dump your some of your important data transferring from your harddisk. The Free email providers Yahoo, Hotmail, Rediff etc.. who planned to change their status to a charged one were really shocked after google's announcement. They too increased their Email space to 100MB, 250MB and 1000Mb after Google's announcement, which provided a mass storage media to their users. Thanks to Google for the announcement.
You will be enjoying the most easiest webmail while you get to use Google. They are putting their best to provide the people the best mail system in the world.
Totally Google Mail is a real different one with a lot of features like Starred, Archieved, Conversational style of mails etc... People will soon switch to Gmail when it arrives.
