I read a book by tagore called lipika which did appeal to the romantic in me .i did find the book deep and still easy to understand so I gave gitanjali a try. gitanjali is a slightly difficult to understand book .it has lovely verses by tagore [translated by yeats]which talk about love at all levels especially love of man and god towards the last few chapters.with philosophical lines like ’come to beg upon my own door’ that give helplessness a dignity and charm of its own.
