Am writing this review coz today I came to know that ICICIC launched their mobile trading platform for android devices. this thing was there with geojit even before I opened my account last year (2012 Jan). I have account with both ICICI-direct and Geojit. ICICI is such a big brand, and it took them these many years to launch something like this. Geojit is wonderful.
My account is held at geojit's Bangalore branch. The following are the good things from my dealings with geojit.
1) I never had to go to geojit branch. whenever I wanted, they always came to my house whenever I wanted. they were really helpful.
2) I was a frequent intraday trader, last year. they frequently used to call me up and give me suggestions on squaring up my position, saving money made out of my trades, etc.
3) seeing my trade volumes, geojit koramangala branch manager (Manesh) himself used to call me up regularly for giving me suggestions.
4) they never used to pester me on any of their insurance products or anything else like that
5) THE MAIN ADVANTAGE is that they have 5 or 6 different platforms for doing ur trade. u can choose which one u want based on ur convenience. AND ALL THIS FOR NO EXTRA FEES.
when I trade using my laptop, I use their Windows software called Flip Me. it has real time streaming of quotes
when I was working in my previous company (AXA Techologies), I used to trade with Flip Gold. its accessed using web browser. its still a wonder to me how they design such a webpage with so many features and how it streams quotes so fast.
in my current company (Infosys) machine Flip Gold is not working for some reason. I use Flip Lite. its a bit inconvenient when compared to Flip Me, or Flip Gold. you can view only one company's quotes at a time and we need to click refresh frequently. but its good when network is slow.
When I am lying on my bed, I use their android platform called Flip Me mobile. this too is a brilliant software. has real time quotes, and has so many functionalists.
they have a product for i-pad/i-phones and windows mobile. I haven't used it.
6) COST: THIS IS ANOTHER GREAT ADVANTAGE. They dont have any account opening charge. AMC is 400 and its not there in the first year. some broking firms have separate charges for trading platforms similar to the ones mentioned above. But geojit doesn't charge anything for any of these products.
I haven't used their technical analysis reports or stock suggestions, so I dont know to comment on them. but daily I get them.
so far, I haven't had any bad experience from their side. I would suggest geojit for any one who is new to trading, or anyone planning to switch from their current broking firm.
