I started freelancing on Fiverr about 2 years ago as a side hustle. It seemed like the right thing to do to gain experience as a writer and expand my portfolio.
I created my gigs which were deleted without reason, and reaching out to customer support was useless. They only gave me vague reasons with no solution except to be patient.
When I finally got customers, I was asked if I could write for them for less(I was charging$5-10 for 2000 words) because they promised to continue giving me their business, which I politely declined. When I got paid for my gigs, Fiverr took 20% of what I made and an additional 20% from my tips. They also charge buyers 5% as administrative fees.
When I finally got my earnings, I was also told I wouldn't be able to withdraw without it costing me a huge sum as processing fees due to the conversion rates, and again, I was super disappointed and disheartened.
Would not recommend Fiverr for anybody since they are essentially exploiting freelancers.
