Accepting an online offer from India Today Book Club I placed an order which was confirmed by them ref ITBC/PD/9810, and I was asked to payRs.574.17 to the postmn.
However, when the postman came to deliver, we all were out of station and the consignment was sent back. But the postman left an intimation that I have to pay Rs.699//. When I sought for clarification there was no response, but an email that they have resent the consignment at no extra charge.
This time I accepted the vpp and on openting I found a different set of boks, which on normal course I would not have wanted. When I broght this to their notice, they promptly send me another vpp without any consideration or solution to what I am supposed to do with the consignment already taken. Naturally I refused to accept this time> Thaat would be adding insult to injury.
My numerous email were responded with the stock reply that we will asure u of our best services. I replied back that henceforth I do not want any services fom them and am boycotting the India Today which I am subcriibing . I received an sms asking me to claim the full refund for the book wronglysent. They didn't have the decency to sent this thru email
I am not getting this refund out of gratitude but because of their utter desregard for their cusomers.For an insstitution dealing with books, I thought by association the people manning them will be knowledgable, but they turned out to be morons. How else will u explain sending another vpp promptly instead of addressing the grievance. I am not a begger to accept their refund. No apologies and no acceptance that they have made a mistake. My only intention of bringing this to the notice of everyone is to be careful in dealng with such reputed! enlightened institutions (!!!S).
