It has been ages since I saw a movie without looking at my watch. Even the exceptionally good movies over the last few years have had moments that held the clock stand still.
I wouldn't call EKEH a masterpiece but the appreciation is utterly meant for its fast and raunchy pace. A perfect entertainer.
The plot is laced with surprises, twists and turns. To be very brief – it’s about Fardeen Khan who is a con man held by Gulshan Grover to make 25 crores in quick 25 days. This movie has almost all the ingredients of a fast slick flick.
Money. Trust. Betrayal. Love. Sex. Friendship.
Above all this film has classic unforced “Humur”.
On the flip side, the movie has been stylized to give the western look. Much like Musafir, Kaante (or you can call Sanjay Gupta films). That kind of style pulls the realistic appeal out of this film. Even the westernized style doesn’t seem as compelling as Sanjay Gupta’s film.
This foible can be easily forgiven, for at end of the day it’s entertainment that matters.
Background score is great and songs are picturized hip.
Actors are first rate. Undoubtedly Kay Kay is the best among the lot. He is a natural actor. But the surprise package of the entire film is Fardeen and Koena. They both have the style and charisma that was essentially required in this film. Acting and dialogue delivery is surprisingly done well. Kudos to both of them!!
All said and done, this film has been thrashed by both media and MS critics to black and blue. This definitely requires a better rating,
I’ll suggest this movie to everyone except to those who can’t stomach a lip locking scene on screen.
This film won’t make you yawn.
