The pyramids are a must see. Try and see it after you see the sound and light show at the pyramids the night before. Be wary of crooks and conmen all through your trip...in fact be wary of all Egyptians...conning and lying is a way of life with them.
Don't miss the museum...just one day there isn't enough. And be sure to visit the room where the mummies are kept...you have to pay even more to get in there.
A visit to Khan-El_Khali is fun...lots of artefacts...papyrus etc to buy. But remember to bargain unashamedly. If they start with 10 Bounds (10 Egyptian Pounds)...start with 1 bound, you'll get it for 2.
But the best parts are out of Cairo...Aswan is fabulous...not too touristy. But Luxor is as irritating as Cairo.
All in all, be on the lookout every second. Cos the guys will try to rip you off left right and center....even the Tourist Police will ask for baksheesh from you
