Background:- I have been using EBAY shopping for many months now and was quite satisfied with my purchases. But the experience of first instance of a problem is very disappointing. Issue was with delivery of product bought @ GEB(Global Easy Buy - Buy from US - Delivery in India) and I asked for refund conforming to Ebay.in policy and they refused.


Timeline:


12/09/2010:- Bought product @ ebay.in/GEB - PaisaPay ID:- 27547881340 - Item No. 380268150797 - Description: GEB - 330445429066 - New zBoost cell signal booster wir


7/10/2010:- Seller missed delivery deadline with no intimation/communication.


8/10/2010:- Initiated Refund request as per Ebay.in ‘PaisaPay’ guarantee on non-delivery. Seller given 5 days to deliver.


9/10/2010:- Refund on Hold on Seller request. Email intimation received.


15/10/2010:- Reminder Email sent. No Reply.(KMM37418324V59689L0KM) 15 Oct


16/10/2010:- Reminder Email sent. No Reply.(KMM37479420V51143L0KM) 16 Oct


17/10/2010:- Reminder Email sent. No Reply.(KMM37520771V26396L0KM) 17 Oct


18/10/2010:- Reminder Email sent. No Reply.(KMM37589512V13970L0KM) 18 Oct.


Further, called customtakeouter care, they were clueless why no one is responding to my queries. They had no update on the matter. Read on their forum(https://forums.ebay.in) issues with i2c world seller @ GEB. Found email id of one Sushant and sent him email.


19/10/2010:- . Got a quick reply on email from Sushant -"I have informed my team to look into this and I will personally get back to you by tomorrow with a resolution.". Also called up credit card issuing bank to cancel transaction and sent them all proofs of communication and details of Ebay guarantee of refund on non-delivery.


20/10/2010:- No update or call from Sushant but one Ms Pragnya(Claim Administrator/adjustor) called me to inform that they are waiting for reply from seller. She had no reply to why EBAY deadline for refund is being violated or sharing any proof of delivery provided by the seller.


21/10/2010:- Citibank reverted on email and refunded my money provisionally(pending investigation with seller). Still no no update/call from seller.


22/10/2010:- Without notice courier delivery guy turned up. Since I had already initiated refund on non-delivery(deadline was 07/10/2010) and cancelled transaction @ Citibank, there was no point taking delivery.


Ms. Pragnya called up finally last week asking me accept much delayed delivery and that Ebay will be unable to refund my money since costs are involved. I feel completely cheated and was taken for a ride by a known name'EBAY'.


Did you know that customtakeouter voice – i.e. the feedback rating @ EBAY can be overturned on seller’s appeal in EBAY courts! Such reversal of negative feedbacks are no longer available online or explanation for reversal which discredits the feedback rating of sellers*.


Update: 8th November 2010:- Thanks Sushant for ensuring I get my refund and sending timely confirmation via email for the same.  I am revising my rating and edited my review while retaining  original  facts for reader's reference.
