If you will go to the timeline you can see I like to write reviews about 2 different products/services in same industry. Likewise I wrote about other company in courier service and now about DTDC. I do not know about the services of DTDC.
I wanted to send a document a week back(22/7/14) and got a tracking ID. There is a reason why I went to DTDC.It is because one of the leading banks in India and World has a services tie up with them and whenever I request cheque they send it in 1 day through DTDC. So I thought DTDC is a great courier company in India.
They offered me 50 Rs package and I took it because of the brand name.Till now I never got their update about tracking.
On their website they claim:
DTDC has 3 ways of tracking possible
1) Through email: Send "Consg # / AWB #" to email track@dtdc.com
2) Online at dtdc.in website
3) SMS: DTDC "Consg # / AWB #" to 9845324040
Trust me, I did try all the methods.
In the 2nd method I always get either SQL error(which means no records found in database or connectivity issues). May be they did not update the tracking list yet but that is not my problem right? From a leading company you expect tracking services to be prompt,
In the 1st and 3rd method they will not bother to send a reply even after 5 attempts, .
My suggestion is not to try 3rd method because it takes your currency from prepaid/postpaid. You can use that SMS to say a Good Morning to your friend or relative.
Dont waste SMS charges. is all I meant.

They may deliver the courier eventually(I have no issues with it because Dest is a clear and easy to find address).but because of poor tracking system its so difficult to know when and where the package is roaming.
It is better if they get rid of Tracking systems instead of having such useless system.
