*Double Barrel** is the fourth movie directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery after the success of Amen. The star cast of the movie includes Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, Arya, and many more. Everyone had huge expectations for the movie after the release of it's teaser and trailer which had stunning visuals. But the movie received extreme negative reviews after the release. it was trolled like anything in the social media.
I personally loved the movie to the core. it was an experiment in the Malayalam film industry. But unfortunately the audience panned the movie and for them it was like a failed experiment. The most heard negative comment about the movie was that it lacked content. Yes, the makers took no effort in making it a content oriented movie and they fully concentrated on the making.
Double Barrel is not today's Mallayalam cinema, but it's futuristic. Many movies like this will be made after 10 years. Lijo is a director who traveled before time(in the case of malayalam cinema). I really appreciate the effort and guts shown by the makers of the movie. They were pretty sure about the outcome of the movie, but they proved their balls by releasing such a movie in front of the Malayalee audience.
