Most of the "Doraemon" cartoon episodes are comedies with lessons explaining the importance of values such as boldness, courage, family bonding, respect for elders, etc.
Doraemon is sent back in time by Nobita's great-great grandson Sewashi who could not bear to see Nobita's sufferings.
CHARACTERS
1.DORAEMON: Doraemon is a cat-like robot . He has a pocket from which he produces many gadgets, medicines, and tools from the future. Although he can hear perfectly well, Doraemon has no ears
2.NOBITA: He is the main character in the cartoon.He is an irresponsible boy who gets zeroes in tests, gets yelled at by the teacher, sleeps until dinner etc
SHIZUKA and NOBITA'S OTHER FRIENDS: She is the only main female character in the cartoon. Nobita's other friends include Gian, a bully and Suneo, a wealthy boy.
OTHER CHARACTERS:There are many other characters, such as Dekisugi, Nobita's parents, his school teacher, his descendants from the future, and Doraemon's little sister, Dorami.
The stories explain the daily struggles of Nobita. Usually, Nobita comes home crying about a problem he faces . After listening to him, Doraemon offers helpful advice, but that's never enough for Nobita . Finally, after Nobita's pleading Doraemon gives a gadget to help Nobita fix his problem.
