I felt this is very clean and calm beach. It is a shallow and secured beach. A good flat stretch with white sand for 6 kms. You can find camel rides, horse ride, balloon or paraglide and even sand bike there. Few good historical places like Janjira Fort at 15 kms, Shrivardhan and Hari-hareshwar in 25 km range and few old temples like Roopnarayan mandir and uttareshwar mandir in red stones.
Very nice place for weekend gateways from Mumbai and Pune with approx 4 hour drive. Good road condition now. There are few good stay options cheap and clean like Pahunchar hotel unless you need to go posh and higer range ones like Exotica. You can get authentic food, but usually made to order. The crowd is reduced a bit now due to the theft of the Ganesha statue. But I heard that there will be a bigger Temple coming up once the issues are resolved. All in all, it;s a good place to spend some quality time.
