I have always wanted to use a DTH at home for viewing TV and was waiting for the world cup to start because I had a fair idea that the two service providers would definitely come up with some irresistible offer. After talking to both TATA SKY and DISH TV and doing a research I got an idea that DUSH TV is fooling the consumers. Dish TV has come up with a new scheme which claims that consumers will get 6 months free subscription upon the payment of Rs 3990/- on Dish Maxi package. The Scheme does not mention about the price increase.
The current scheme covers the charges for 6 months viewing of Dish Maxi package by increasing the charges from Rs. 3390/-(Rs. 2950/- for CPE rental for 5 years+ Rs. 200/- for installation+ Rs 240/- for one month subscription of Dish Maxi) to Rs 3990/-(for CPE rental for 5 years+ Rs. 200/- for installation+ 6 months free viewing of Dish Maxi).
Consumers are being charged Rs 840/- additionally for 6 months viewing of Dish Maxi package which indicates that the viewing of 6 months is not free but partly recovered by such manipulated prices and scheme. Such deception and manipulation is subject matter of grave concern for consumers. Thus the current scheme offering ‘6 months subscription free’ by **DISH TV is false and misleads consumers in relation to the offering of free viewing.*
