Pleasantly Surprised. Review on Dharm

I am normally not a fan of movies of'hatke' kinds. However my wife was very keen that we see Dharm and so here I am. I was frankly pleasantly surprised at the quality of movie . Low budget but succeeds in sending the message across.

Dharm is set in Benares, the holy land of Hindus. Pankaj Kapoor plays a stellar role as the head priest. He as expected is religious to the core and people respect him for that. At first it appears that he is too orthodox for comfort but some major events which happen in his life opens his eyes to true meaning of religion. So this movie is the transformation of Pankaj Kapoor's understand of religion from that of following vedas and rituals to the path of mankind, love and non-violence.
