Developer IQ is a magazine which was recently started to cater to the needs of the ever growing software developer community in India. It is a bi-weekly magazine published on the 1st and 15th of every month. Each issue along with a CD, comes at a cost of Rs. 50/- adds up to a cost of Rs. 100/- per month. Based in Bangalore it is just five issues old but with a lot of ambition to extend its reach to all sections of the developer community it carries articles on various aspects of the software industry be it Open Source or Java.

It also carries tutorials on various programming languages such as Java, Visual Basic and others to sharpen the knowledge of experienced pros and as an aid to students of the languages. This is the first magazine with the least number of ads increasing its readibility tremendously. Each article attempts to cover the topic under discussion in a thorough fashion without baffling the reader. The terminologies and acronyms used though are not explained for the benefit of the novice reader so a certain level of experienced readers are targeted by the magazine.

The tutorials are well explained with source code which is useful for the learner to practise on his own computer. The tutorials are backed up by a collection of the source code on the accompanying CD for the reader reluctant to enter the source code on his computer. Users problems and queries are also answered in the section 'Post Your Problem' in the magazine, though queries posted on their website evoke no response.

The CD not only contains source code but also various utilities for Windows, Mac and Linux users to improve their productivity. Internet, Games Multimedia, Servers and Gallery are some of the other sections containing software for the readers use.
