It is a surprise that the Ubuntu which used by many is itself is based on Debian

As Many of the people use Windows there are actually less people who use Debian as main operating System. The primary advantage is that Debian system is Free you can download directly from their official site

Debian installation requires internet connection to install. However there are many distributions based on debian and they are easy to install and easy to configure like Sparky Linux, Mx-Linux.etc.
