I was a regular user of other toothpastes and was ok with it. Than I saw this Dabur Red on the shelf of one of the more outlets. Actually it has been around for some time, but I ignored it. That day, I was reaching out for something else when I knocked down a Dabur Red toothpaste tube to floor. So I picked it up to keep it back. By chance, I just smelt it, the smell was familiar, but I couldn't place it.
I just added it to my shopping cart. Back home, eagerness got the better of me. I was waiting for the dinner to be over. I rushed to the bathroom and opened Dabur Red and started to brush with it. My son passed a comment " everyday mamma pushes you to brush your teeth, what a surprise today". I just smiled.
I was in a journey and was back to a time 30 years back. We had a shop in Kerala and my dad used to bring us " K P Namboodiri;s toothpowder" to brush. We used to like it. Then came the era of toothpastes and brand like Colgate, Signal3, Forhans, and what not conquered the shelf spaces on the shops. Most of the toothpowders were out. We, the disloyal customers, were also conquered by the BRANDED toothpastes.
Coming back to the present, yes, this Dabur Red is nothing but the good old KPN toothpowder. So refreshing ! Nostalgic too.
