I don't agree with the people who has written negative things about ciena(there are alwayssuch things happens in a company) but it is a great company to work with.
Don't care about HR( I know it is bad)but my work is pretty good and got the opportunity to learn a lot here. some people complaints about maintenance work given to them, why do they forget that this kind of work is also given in bigger companies like juniper, cisco etc. People get the work what they deserve.
There are always scope in an organisation to improve and ciena has improved drastically in past couple of years. Layoff happened but that is the thing of past now(when there was recession, every company was firing, why so much things written about ciena only) Ciena laid off around 20 employees which means 5% of thier total manpower of India. it shd not be called laidoff, this was performance based firing.
anyways great company to work with. Learnt a lot, doing my job happily, got good salary hike. Much better company than other optical companies like tejas, eci, fibcom etc.
