I would choose Windows ME compared to the other windows variants for the home users. Windows ME does not consume as much as system resources and Windows XP does nor does it crash as often as other variants do. ME is better than 95/98 because it newer compared to them and has better services. ME is also better compared to 2000 as it is more user friendly than it. ME also has better hardware support than 2000/98/95/NT. For the home user ME is economical as you don't need a high performance PC to run it smoothly. XP is just a resource hungry OS.
