Hey if you have logged on to my review with the thought of reading
tourist stuff , you are on the wrong page , its a general review written on
China in the CHINA-GENERAL category.
Before proceeding further I would like to clarify that the views expressed
in my review is my personal opinion regarding China. Its rather a
comparative review between my native country India & neighbour China.
In the recent times the global market of debate concerning India-China
has become hot with the following ascendancy of Asia .With Japanese economy
in the recovery mode after the terrible turmoil it had in 1997 during the
Asian crisis and with Israel , Middle-East , South East Asia showing good progress
the whole world is looking up to Asia. Many of the International economist
have predicted the 21st Century as the Asian Century , just as 19th Century ,
20th Century was described as European and American Century respectively.
INDIA & CHINA
As we talk about Asian Century , role of India and China can’t be ignored
or if I put it in better words it would be appropriate to describe
India and China as key players in making 21st Century an Asian Century.
With Asian Dominance about to emerge in the world India and China will
soon become global player. Just as the emergence of United Germany in
19th century and USA in 20th Century became crucial factor for the success.
Both India and China have achieved fastest growth rate of GDP in the
world , India hanging around 7% while China consistently touching 9-10%.
Both country’s share of World Trade in future will be a hefty one.
CHINA SHINING BUT IS INDIA TOO?
Some of the very obvious facts will reveal that China clearly beats India
in many cases with a huge margin if we compare these two giant Tiger
economies of the world on paper.
In, 2002 China’s share of World Trade was 3.4% while India is aiming at
1% by 2007. China’s FOREX reserves are Five-six times of India’s.
Our GDP growth rate saw wide fluctuations with 4% in 2002 , 8% in 2003,
6% in 2004 , While China is touching 9% constantly. It is ranging from
9-11%.
In terms of Human Development Index China is better than India.
It does have a far better basic Infrastructure than India , its roads , airports ,
ports are World Class. With Shanghai’s Skyscrapers touching new
heights (both in terms of beauty & height) , India’s Mumbai still lives in the
Era of DO BHIGA ZAMEEN (black & white movie of 1950’s).
( WELL THIS COMPARISON IS ON THE BASIS OF INFRASTRUCTURE
THAT TOO WITH CITIES LIKE SHANGHAI ,etc……..)
The communist party of China has changed itself with time while
India’s Communist party has not changed at all.
All these things signifies that China’s Shine is much better than that
preached by India.
TOMORROW NEVER DIES
AAJ GHAM HAI TO KAL HAI KHUSHI(If today is sorrow tomorrow
will be joy)
Despite the above mentioned facts there is a buzz in the world , that
Elephant (which is India) can emerge as a Dark horse in it’s competition
with Dragon(China).
With one-child theory adopted by China , it’s population is ageing , so present
going of China at blistering pace can get a set back. While in India young
turks are increasing and account for almost half of India’s Population.
Pool of English speaking people supplied to the whole world
From non-english speaking country are the largest
from India , China can never ever replace it. With this India has become
favourite outsourcing center for Service Jobs.
Furthermore India’s Software capabilities can be utilized to it’s fullest
Software is the need of the hour in the 21st century rather than Hardware.
India’s Biggest strength is DEMOCRACY. Is it With China?
It is Only the Dance of this Democracy which enabled us to throw the
extremists out of power after trying them from 1999-2004. And give a chance
to a more matured and experienced Party to rule this Country again .(Except CPM)
On the contrary Chinese people will have to live and bear with the same party for
years & years.
Remember : A country without democracy is just like a body without blood
for how long a body can operate without blood , not even for a
while , if it does then aftermaths are harmful and dangerous.
So what , if they are hosting BEIJING Olympics-2008 , the World will be
stunned to see the Commonwealth games of 2010 in New Delhi , Olympics
are very far off. So what , if Shanghai’s Skyscrapers & infrastructure is
World class , the girls of Mumbai are far better to beat the beauty of
Shanghai. Is ‘Made in China’ brand better than ‘Made in India’ Brand?
Let us take a resolution that:
WE ALL SHALL TRULY LIVE THE SPIRIT OF AN INDIAN.
