I had been to China for a day when I visited HongKong in January 2006. Our tour guide took us to the local MTR by a Tourist vehicle

and we caught the Metro for Shenzhen, China. Hongkong has a very good Electric Metro System.

It took us 1 & 1/2 hrs to reach Shenzhen. On the way you could see various stations and cool Landscape outside.

When we reached Shenzhen we went thru Immigration and entered China. We were then taken around Shenzhen by our guide Peter.

Shenzhen has a lot of buildings almost reaching the scale of Hongkong. Very clean long roads comparable to Singapore.Lot of highways that have no branching. We saw lot of Highrises there. Since they are near Hongkong many people living there go to work in Hongkong via Metro. Shenzhen is much affordable as compared to Hongkong. They say the rich stay in Hongkong. But Shenzhen has many manufacturing and businesses as compared to Hongkong. In Hongkong the main activity is tourism, shopping.

We first went to ''Window of the World'' in Shenzhen where we saw scaled down versions of the worlds wonders like : Taj Mahal, Pyramids, Eiffel Tower, Tower of Pisa, ..

We went on top of the ''Eiffel Tower'' by elevator and had a good view of Shenzhen.

After that we had lunch (Chicken, Noodles with asparagus and vegetables) and drove around Shenzhen.

We saw some Government Outlets that sold Jade jewellery and Stoneworks. They showed us various types of Jade articles that were made from different types of Jade(Green, yellow). Some even glow in the dark like Moon Rock. After that we had some Traditional Chinese Tea in small cups the size of an Orange. Lichi tea makes you look younger they say. So we said good bye and proceeded back to Shenzhen MTR station after making some purchases.

We had to say goodbye to our friend Peter and Shenzhen for our Journey back to Hongkong.

Indeed a Great day in Mainland China.
