I picked up a Canon Powershot from a Canon authorised retailer in Pune last November. The piece was made in Japan and not in Malaysia or China. This had a psychological impact :-) as Made in Japan still counts.
Ever since it has been sheer bliss. I used to spend around 4k per annum on films, prints, CDs etc and I expect to get my ROI within a couple of years.
I’m yet to try out all the features but believe me, I’ve got excellent results. The various still photo modes are great. The clips are excellent and the sound recording is fab.
I got a Canon charger and four Canon batteries along-with the A-520.The battery life is unbelievable.
Nothing to complain except that I wish the flash would go off instantly instead of checking the object and then flashing. I miss out on some candid shots because of this. Not a major issue though.
I’d recommend the Powershot range to anybody who is in the market for a digital camera .
