A brilliant script let down!!. Review on Butterfly Effect

When Eric Bess (director/writer) wrote down Final Destination 2 it would have shocked him to see the film lose it's virtue as far as box office success goes. In this movie he scores briliantly too (with J. Mackye Gruber, co- writer and co- director) but again as a writer only,the concept of the movie is just too hard to let go. But there is a discontinuity to the movie that is very obvious. Ashton Kutcher as Evan Treborn tries his best to potray his very complex charater, but his own youthfulness and charm lets him down and eventually the character down. There has been a lot of debate about the climax which now appears has an alternate for some of the film's versons. The special effects though very thoughtful are not supported by the dull cinematography underlying throughout the entire movie. Matthew F. Leonetti will definitely not consider this as one of his best performances behind the camera after a string of visually captivating camera work in movies like Angels in the Outfield, Dawn of the Dead and many more. Heike Brandstatter and company should have done better with the selection of the cast. My verdict for the movie is it's a brilliant script let down by some indifferent acting and camerawork. 3 of 5 for this baby.
