Title : BSNL excel
Review : The bsnl's prepaid service excel was launched progessively in india. It was initially aimed at all classes of indian. The rates were fixed flat all over the country. The service got mixed response from different parts of india. Some places it was well accepted by the users while at other places it did not have any impact on the existing cell companies.
I live in west bengal (north side ) where reliance gsm was existing since last 8 years and it was offering very good service but at a monopoly rate. The launch of bsnl was got good subscribers here. It gave threat to reliance's business but bsnl's poor service along with weak networks etc. Once again made reliance the king. Though bsnl improved their service gardually and it started makinh its place in the market. But the hike in the call rates by trai in pvt. Cell companies made bsnl cheapest cell company in india. It is affordable but service is still lacking behind private cell cos.
I also spent a year in gujarat where bsnl's excel is though cheap but service back up of hutch/idea/rim etc prompted people to go for the latter. I am presently having excel connection (of gujarat circle). Once my balance was automatically exhausted due to server error. I have now come over to my home town where my excel is not offering roaming though it is national roaming. Now I'm finding harrasement in complaining to customer care of both here and gujarat. Still compare to other companies rate bsnl today is cheap. In some part of india they are offering very good service.
