Hi!.. I have been a BSNL prepaid customer of Chennai for more than 2 yrs. Considering this experience, I think I can present a better n useful review on BSNL prepaid.

Firstly I have one question for the officials of BSNL. Is your Network a public sector company or a private sector one???. I know pretty well that its a public sector corporate network. But I dont understand the necessity for such high tarrifs. Thats where my doubt appears. Even private phones like Airtel,Hutch have much lesser tarrifs.

Its ridiculous to charge 60 p/msg. Cant they atleast reduce it to older tarrif of 40 p/msg. Dont they realise that today its the age of messaging & msg is a part of modern trend?? BSNL forces you to keep ur trends at the bay. I mean, if u msg in a bsnl phone ,it does cost u heavily.

Next abt the new tarrifs :. Wot the hell tarrif is dis??? THe new tarrif from 1-Jan-2006 is as follows :

BSNL to BSNL(mob & landline) : 90 p/min (local)

Oth Network(mob & landline- Airtel,Hutch....) : Rs 1.20/min (local)

SMS : 60 p/msg

It means,if u wanna call u intimate friend or relative or sweetheart who has some private phone, you will made to regret for that. Do u beleive it is fair??? You can neither call nor message, so wot the hell can u do with a BSNL phone??? Think!! Do we spend such a great deal of money for nothin?? If at all, if u wanna possess a BSNL phone, you can have it for incoming only (cos its free ryt now , and yet to be charged!!!).

I dont find any fault with its Signalling & Customer care. BSNL has improved in either areas.. But tarrif is the main concern. Why not go for some other network?? Think!!

PS : Hey!! Airtel & Hutch have introduced bottom low tarrifs!! .. Now calls can be made between mobiles for jst 10 p/min (Airtel Student, Hutch Basic) and SMS is absolutely free in either networks... ( In Chennai only)..
