I have been using Compaq Desk Top computers for the last 6 years. I had a Presario 4701 Pentium I machine. Used for 4 years. Absolutely trouble free.Not even a single service call was needed. Bought a new Presario 5000 in October 2000. Pentium III. Working trouble free. Operating system Win Me. The Quick Restore CDs are really useful. Upgraded memory to 256mb, added an Acer CD Writer all by myself(any novice can do it!). The workmanship quality of Compaq is very good and needs very little service back up. With Win Me's System Restore and other utilities sorting out problems are easy.And the Windows updates keeps you upto date! I feel going in for a trusted Branded model would be beneficial on the long run.
