I bought this product BPL U16 N when I was admitted to IIT kanpur in 1996 for my B. Tech program (its history now )..this highly portable but a little simple and no feature savvy two-in-one was able to fulfill all my needs ...i bought it at a price of Rs.1300/- and it never gave me any technical problems what so ever during my hostel stay ..i used it quite roughly. I used its recording features to help improve my spoken english and the entertainment was obviously there with a combination of MW/SW/FM Radio receiver...I still enjoy when ever I am back home (though now I have 3500 watts of SONY audio) ...i feel for any hosteliers best bet is BPL U16 N two in one ...both informitive durable and Economical above all ...has almost all basic features of a Complet Audio System for personal use of course ..Does Not Create Noise Pollution as decibell levels are limited (only 16 watts at max which enough for happy hearing)..Although its NOT a Stereo but a MONO audio system it is I would say best in its CATAGORY at a very reasonable price
