Biryani Guru - it’s masterly, never fails ! Dinner for Two, easy paced, leisurely. We went on a week night & were lucky to get a good table by the large windows. Our plan to have Biryanis changed impromptu.Order a masala chaas, Dum Paneer Tikka and Chicken Barrah, with Onion Kulcha and Rotis. They have rather good sized portions and they take time to serve, but it’s always sizzling hot, fresh & generous ! Chaas was thick, freshly churned, appropriately spiced with chili, mint, cumin. It came in a 500 ml bottle and was served to us in two tall glasses. Rs 130/-Paneer tikka was wonderful, creamy rich. We asked it to be a little well done so that it becomes a wee charred for added bite and that added to the experience. Rs 295/-Murgh barrah was half chicken, cooked well, aptly marinated and served straight from the oven. Rs 260/-Onion kulcha was nice & well stuffed, hot & buttery nice. Rs 60/-Rotis were hot & fresh, though I would have preferred them a little crisp, maybe that’s my personal choice. Rs 20/- each. The standard table accompaniments had 3 chutneys, one of which was unusual & prompted us to ask about what it was.Surprise SurpriseIt was a capsicum relish, a wee sweetish but definitely a new flavor.Decanter filled with mint & cucumber with cold water ensured we needn’t order any other water / cola and it was very refreshing.Finished our meal on a sweet note with Anjeer Halwa. Freshly puré ed figs, cooked in ghee with almonds was served hot & tasted divine. Rs 220/-We engaged in some happy talk with the stewards, they were polite & jolly to converse. Smiling & hospitable & always on the move in the restaurant, it looked a happy professional sight. All in all a very nice experience, enjoyable to the core as always & very Soul satisfying.Total bill for the above Rs 1055/- ( All incl)
