I had recently purchased 1 kg of Best brown basmati rice available in a pet jar. The jar was well sealed with the normal aluminum foil and well covered with a lid.
Normally its said that food items available in pet jars and sealed pouches/packs need not be washed or checked before use. But thanks to my usual habit of laying the rice on a plate and checking for anything unusual, surprisingly I found an approx 1cm piece of glass in the rice which I was about to cook and serve my family
If products in terta packs and jars cannot be trusted, what kind of health, safety and hygiene do we ensure ourselves and our family??
