Bell Bottom, a covert Research and Analysis Wing(RAW) agent is appointed to save a hijacked aircraft in Amritsar. He plans a clandestine operation to outwit the 4 hijackers and rescue 210 hostages.
The iconic bell-bottoms worn by protagonist Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta as Prime Minister Indira Gandhi indicate that the events took place in the late 70s and early 80s. The espionage thriller keeps viewers glued to the screen with great action sequences, sweet and funny moments, and the overall energy of the film.
At the climax, viewers are left with cliffhanger questions about the hijacker's plan and the misery and distress of the hostages. However, Lara Dutta's pivotal role as Indira Gandhi is marvellous and the actor is almost unrecognisable!
Bell Bottom is the world's first film to start shooting during the pandemic and has delivered impressive scenes with some of the industry's most commendable actors. Director Ranjit Tewari has taken great steps to make the film worth watching and enjoying.
