Begum jaan is a story of survival against the backdrop of Partition. The trailer starts with a thought provoking monologue in the deep baritone of Mr.Amitabh Bachchan. Then it comes the powerful entry of Vidya Balan as Begum Jaan, a brothel owner who has built a world for herself and the other women in her brothel. However we will find that their existence is threatened when the house in which they reside has to be torn down as a result of the partition.
With the newly chalked LOC, half of their house was in India and the half was in Pakistan , post partition. Begum Jaan and the other women decided to fight back and not just leave their house without fight. What follows is deep series of actions and drama which has greatly directed by the director Srijit Mukherjee.
This is story has everything that an audience needs to feel the greatness of a film.
Overall - A must watch.
