I used to play Diable and Diablo II on Battle.net and it was fun playing against other people. It is also free. All you need is to own one of the games supported by Battle.net (Ie. Diablo, Diablo II, Starcraft, Warcraft). There is on serious drawback though. A lot of people cheat. Playing on Battle.net is great fun as long as the people are honest, but those people are hard to find and it is no fun to play with cheaters. I quit playing games on Battle.net for that reason. I'm sure that Blizzard Entertainment is taking steps to fix the problem though and once they do Battle.net will be a top-notch internet gaming service.
