Good new serial . Review on Balika Vadhu

I decided to write review on Balika Vadhu after watching several episodes because many serial are good in beginning but they are stretched later. Still now this serial has lots of utility for its audience. First I thought, is child marriage practiced any where in present or it is just story depicting history but I was false. Recently I read in India today magazine, report on child marriage, it is still followed at Rajasthan.

I liked this serial for many reasons such as

· Title song & background music.

· Costume

· Script

· Acting

· Social message

· Not just crying but also entertaining.

Although I like this serial, story got bore in between when death of Sughana’s husband was shown but now again it is back with lots of interesting story.

*Plot

*In beginning wedding of 8yr girl Anandi is shown, with Jagdish(boy of same age).Serial then shows how Anandi has to face evil custom & tradition. Dadisa is orthodox & plays negative role.

*Music

*Music by Lalit sen is creating sense of Rajasthan. The title song ‘choti si umar ‘is Rajasthani style of song. Background music is soft & pleasant.

*Script

*Balika Vadhu serial is not just about Anandi, whose story is depicted in beginning but it is about girls who are child bride. Though Anandi is a central character & story is about her & her other relatives following practice of child marriage.

Some characters such as Dadisa’s dialogues are in Marwari language while some other speaks in Hindi e.g. - Anandi’s mother in law.

*Acting

*Serial has all versatile actors. It is proved too by gaining three Telly awards2008.

*Avika Gor(Anandi) - best child artist award

Surekha Sikri(kalyani Devi) - best in negative role

Smitha Bansal(Sumitra) –best supporting actor

My favorite is Surekha Sikri’s acting.
