For an Indian son, it is tough to invade his parents sex life, if they would have any. Badhaai Ho is one such film, that doesn’t mean that he walks into the room when his parents are doing it but he gets a presumptuos call of her middle-aged mother getting pregnant.

The film stars Gajraj Rao as Jeetu a loving husband and a father to two sons, Neetu as the mother and a rebellious school going child as the younger, Nakul as 20 or something son and Surekha Sikri, mother of Jeetu. The film takes an upswing but doesn’t ruin the liberal bollywood standards of the middle aged parents doing it. Moreover, the plot is slightly unsual and the first half is a massive blast of chuckles on your face.

The films secret weapon is Surekha Sikri, ( the granny) who has an acid tongue and poor Nakul who’s of marriageable age himself has to hear all kinds of Oh’s from the neighbours and relatives. The senior actors delivered a fabulous job as Jeetu is a mild, soft-hearted husband and Neetu has performed as a typical country wife who wants to take all the blame on her for the shame. The chemistry between the two makes a great deal in the movie.

The second hour gets slightly in the narrative of Nakul and his girl friend played by Sania Malhotra and her mom. However, the climax gets slightly sentimental but the makers were awfully succeded to get a lump in my throat.

There are mouth splashing jokes and very good use of language by the actors. A so far unusal film for bollywood, Don’t miss it.
