I bought this phone on September 2016 during the big billion day sale. I am taking one star away from their rating because at that time it was priced at around 21 thousand, which was very overpriced at the time. But sometime later Asus realised their mistake and this phone is now available for around 17 thousand on flipkart, which is still a steep cost but at least cheaper.
Now this phone has served me very well for over 2 years now. The camera shoots decent to good videos and has OIS which no other phone provided at this segment at that time. It even shoots 4K videos at 30 fps. The pictures taken on the other hand, can sometimes be a hit or a miss. People who know how to take good photographs can get the best out of this phone.
On the performance side, I am not much of a heavy user but I have played games like Asphalt 8, pokemon go, mobile legends now and then, and I can say that I did not experience any lag whatsoever. The UI is also very responsive but I suggest users to disable or uninstall all the extra bloatware.
The sound quality is not so great and the placement of the speaker is in a bad position which can easily be blocked while watching videos so I suggest a good pair of headphones.
The battery has been great. I say this because till date it has retained about 80% to 95% of its original capacity. Even after all the charge cycles, the drain of the battery is as good as it was when new. Although the downside is that the capacity is below 3000 mAH and for a phone with USB type C no fast charger is provided.
The accesories provided in the box still to this date look clean and work as intended. The earphones and charging cable provided till date have not bent or shown signs of wear after much heavy use in 2 years. Asus is trustworthy with the durability and ruggedness of their products.
All in all, I must say that this was a great buy for me. But now in 2018 there are much better phones available so this should not be your first choice. But you can keep it as a last resort buy as it will not disappoint you.
