I can still remember when I received my iPod 30GB Video! I must say I had my doubts whether it was worth all the money that was being spent on it (yeah, it was a gift!). But all my doubts were soon banished!
The iPod 30GB holds around 7,500 songs, supports videos, and has decent sound. I say decent because I have heard better. But that is something all iPod owners have to accept. We paid for the iPod not because it sounded like a Bose! The appeal for the iPod is the convenience and the features! Well, if you want better sound, just get another set of earphones! That is not going to cost you much!
The looks beat every Creative, Sony, Sandisk, or Samsung equivalent I have seen. The screen is big enough to watch a three hour movie on without straining your eyes. The click-wheel makes scrolling a breeze!
The good thing is that newer software updates are released from time to time; I would suggest every one keep updating the software as newer functionalities are frequently added. I do wish the smart search functionality was available in the 5th Generation model too (that's the one in the picture). The newer models allow you to search for a song just like you search for an entry in your Nokia phonebook!
To end the review, I would say it is worth every penny! Me and my iPod are inseparable!
