It differs from person to person that what is their use of the phone. Like Android gives you freedom to about the hardware and software where in case of iPhone, Apple has control over the hardware and software(it might also be attached to cellular network). Google is not validating applications that are being available in Market where as Apple is validating each of the application available to iPhone user.
I think Android has more of free applications to download rather iPhone. With respect to design and size, Android based phones having a clear edge since many of the varieties available in market(with different brands of course and much cheaper price than iPhone), where iPhone doesn't. Android phones are noticed to have short battery period compare to iPhone. I think Android clearly wins here however it's again up to individual to decide!
