So I was going to gift a TV to my Dad on his 65th birthday.
After searching on various e-commerce websites, I came to amazon and found out that they were giving the best rate and their delivery date matched my plans.
So I went ahead and bought that TV.
The date was between 27th to 29th of July. But then they changed it to July 29.
I called up amazon and ask them if they were going to deliver it to me on 29th as the birthday was on 30th.
The customer support told me that the TV has arrived but couldn't be delivered due to bad weather!(LOL)
I told them to cancel the order as I wouldn't mind buying it from the Local store as it was my dad's birthday present and gifting it to him on his birthday was more important. But then they promised that it will be delivered in the morning before 11:30-12:00.
Then I went on the courier tracking page and found out that the courier hadn't even left for my city. The customer support lied to me about the package being arrived to my city.
I got so furious and again called them to have a clearer picture of what is happening.
The guy said that the delivered is late by 3-4 days. He was not able to tell me the exact date of delivery. He wasn't not even able to connect me tho their supervisor.
I decided to cancel it. Went to the store bought the TV for more than 5k from amazons price.
But actually I didn't waste any money. I got 2 years of warranty and free demo and installation.
Had I purchased it online, I would have got only one year of service and warranty and no demo. So this you have to pay somewhere near 1500 rupees extra for that.
So all and all, I would have save no money but wasted my TIME.
When we purchase, there are so many things that we over look, which actually are very important in some cases.
But I still buy stuffs online. At least groceries. They come cheap.
