The Echo Dot is Amazon’s compact smart speaker equipped with Alexa which is a built-in voice assistant. The third-generation echo dot is softer and has a more rounded aesthetic with fabric sides. In term of dimensions, the device measures 99mm in diameter and is 43mm tall.
At the back, there’s a circular power socket which replaces the microUSB socket of the older generation. On the top, there are volume buttons, an action button and the microphone mute button.
One can also use Bluetooth to stream from the Echo Dot to other speakers or even from your phone. You can also steam from another device to the Echo Dot and use it as a Bluetooth speaker.
The updated design of the Echo Dot also comes with an updated speaker. The sound comes out from the fabric sides of the new Echo Dot, instead of the plastic top like the old model. This helps in projecting sound further into the room and thus, making it much better for music.
The quality of the Echo Dot has also been upgraded and can be quite loud as well. The device is powered by an efficient, fast and powerful MediaTek processor which gives the Echo Dot a smooth and advanced performance. Alexa can perform multiple actions such as Smart home control, music playback, podcasts, news briefings, playing radio stations, setting multiple alarms, timers and many more things.
