I bought an Airtel Data card a few months ago. I have regretted this decision every moment. The speed is even slower than a BSNL dial up connection. I get a max speed of 1-3 kbps. It is impossible to even check my emails and do anything more than basic surfing. Video, flash and downloading anything is out of the question. The worst part is I signed up for the unlimited package - which costs more than Rs 1000 a month - this is the maximum package that they have. The only reason I am still continuing with this connection is because I do not know of any other option.
When I went to buy the Airtel Data card I inquired about a broadband connection. The salesmen in the showroom told me that my area was not "wired" - which is strange because I live in Malviya Nagar and there is a cyber cafe in the basement of the building I live in which is using a Airtel Broadband connection. They checked their computers and told me that I could not get a connection, even though there was a Airtel broadband connection in the same building! Now I feel that this was a tactic to sell me the useless Airtel Data card.
I strongly warn you - please do not make the mistake I made. Do not ever make the mistake of buying this product. It is absolutely useless.
