I am leaving India permanently and trying to cancel my Airtel broadband has been an absolute nightmare. After two weeks of being looped through their useless chatbot, both online and on the phone, getting nowhere but “pause your plan” options, I finally had to lie to the phone bot just to reach a real person. That person could at least find my two-week-old tickets, which no one had ever responded to, but then came the same nonsense, asking if I wanted to pause instead or transfer to a friend. I had to escalate to a supervisor to get any progress, but even they repeated the same script. It is a farce and I honestly cannot see how this kind of customer handling can be legal.
