I have subscribed to ABC Broadband service last week. Switched over from beam cable which I had been using for the past 3 years in Hyderabad.
The installtion fee is just Rs.500 which is quite less compared to other services like tata indocom, Airtel etc. It took just 2 days from the time that I submitted the documents and cheque for my connection to be setup. The Service engineer comes and checks for the signal strength at the house. If its weak he installs a mini antennae in the balcony or roof. I spoke to the technician at length and the positioning of this device is crucial to the service that the subscriber receives in future. The device has to be in direct line of sight with the closest Access point and should not be placed higher than the access point. If these two conditions are not satisfied then you will always have slow speed compaints.
The device has to receive power from your house so in case of powercut your connection wont work.
I also found that the tariff plans for Unlimited connection of ABC Broadband are the most economical after some of the local players like beamcable...certainly cheaper than Airtel and Tata , Reliance !
My 512 kbps connection is for Rs599 per month.
