Few days ago my husband was admitted there as he was suffering from severe fever for few days.then we decided to admit him in apollo hostipal.They took the admission in Emergency ward.
In next day it was diagnosed as dengue but the hospital staff was not co-opearative to share any information about the patient like platelet counts ( which is the important parameter needs to take care) each days so that we can consult with our family doctor.rather they were very rude.Nursing stuff was not there to nurse the patient, rather they are busy in gossip among themselves.Each time he had to call the nurses And the doctor also not responding properly as I was only patient member.I think the doctor thought I am not that much important to answer properly.Somehow I managed for 2 days.Thankfully on the 3rd day my husband's parents arrived and somehow they managed to talk to the doctor. On the 4th day itself my husband was recovering and the platelet counts were growing.but the hospital authority was not ready to release him as he was admitted under cashless treatments that means his trearment cost had to be paid from mediassist( company's mediclaim policy) .as they got to know the same on the very first day, they decided then and there that this patient would be in hospital for maximum days they can sustain.even if patient was saying he was completely fit to be released dr was insisting to put him in hospital.so he was there for 10 days.a normal dengue patient( whose platelet counts never went down below 1 lakhs) was there in hospital for more than 10 days.somehow his parents managed him to get released from hospital.And the hospital bill was 85000 which is huge amount and that was not possible to be paid by a middleclass family if mediclaim was not there.Hence I will request to review the hospital policy.
