When I got a suvida salary account opened, citibank representative adviced me to take groceries debit card instead of normal debit card.
normal debit card will cost you Rs.100/p per anum, where as this grocery debit card cost you Rs. 500/- per anum. For that sake you will get many reward and loyalty points which you can redeem for cash or gifts. But he clearly told me that they will deduct only Rs.500/- per anum and there will be no hidden cost. But actually what they deducted is more than that -
Debit card charge --- Rs. 500.00 /-
Tax ----------------- Rs. 60.00 /-
Education Cess ??? -- Rs. 1.80 /-
A total of Rs. 561.80 /-
Instead of 500 rupees they are decuting 562 rupees form my account.
All I want to say is these MNC are here to reap profits, not to serve people. There will be hidden costs in every step and very product of citibank. And some times their own reps don't know about it. So, customers ... be carefull while dealing with CitiBank.
