Go ahead give that Child a Snack!. Review on 7 Up

I've read a lot about Coke and Pepsi since coming to Mouthshut and I have to admit I'm spilt on the two. In fact I have 2 married children who are divided on the cola loyalties. My daughter prefers Pepsi and my son likes Coke (a mother knows when to stay quiet and drink both).

There was a time in our life when the colas couldn't be present in our home, due to my son having a serious problem with hyper-activity. I was against using drugs to control his condition so did so with diet. Everything we gave him was to be without food color, flavors and additives. This is where 7-up came in.

We were told through Dr. Feingold's diet, that the un-cola had none of the above-mentioned ingredients. It is naturally flavored with lemon and lime, has no color what-so-ever and no chemical additives or preservatives. Unlike popular believe sugar is not the culprit with hyper-activity, although is should be regulated for things like the teeth and calories.

This allowed my son to have a soda on the occasional basis, without causing him to turn into the wild child we had known before the diet. Many times we added 7-up to a punch drink made with real juice. The soda, added carbonation and sparkle to the drink and allowed for less sugar to be consumed. For many years I ran a private day-care in my home for children with disabilities and followed the Feingold diet, including using 7-up only when a soda was given as a treat. Children need to be treated and what better way then to give a soda that won't make the children run in circles.

7-upcan also be used by individuals who don't want the caffeine before bedtime, yet want a cold drink. It may not be your first choice but when children are involved it might be the wise choice. A little side point, Lays potato chips (plain only) make the snack complete, as it's also free from flavors and additives/preservatives. We needn't make our children do without the occasional treat (especially when company comes over, holidays or a party is involved).

So go ahead, serve up the un-cola (7-up) and enjoy the benefits of this additive free drink, that tastes good too.
