You might like this movie, if you are free, don’t have any other movies to watch, if you like Drew Barrymore and if you are romantic. Might. The movie is endearing, undoubtedly and the presence of two genial stars make this otherwise insipid movie watchable.(I wonder how can Ms.Drew look so pristine even after such a chaotic personal life).
Nevertheless, don’t expect it to be Sandler’s another riotous goof-fest. He as John looks sincere and honest but lacks the charisma and charm required to play this romantic role. Drew as Lucy looks cute and pulls up memory loss very nicely. And other characters endeavor to make the movie funny with their attire, action and accent (Henry’s friend, Lucy’s brother).
Dr.Henry (Sandler)is commitment phobic and dates only tourists. But his life changes when he meets Lucy in the local diner. They hit it off, have great time and make plan for next day. Henry is all excited and starts day dreaming about Lucy. but next day he is flabbergasted when Lucy refuses to recognize him. He then discovers that she had an accident before one year and has short term memory loss. She can’t form new memory. She believes it is still the same day one year ago, and to save her from further traumas her father, brother and friends goes to extraordinary length, all pretending it is the same day.
Henry, head over heels in love with lucy thus decides to make her fall in love with him, if not forever then for everyday. And after creating many hilarious situations, eventually manages to make lucy fall in love and remember him, not his name but the person and his image. Henry takes extreme measure to make lucy fall in love with him everyday and remind of it next day.but I wonder what will he do when he gets old. Will he have energy to continue this arduous task. What if lucy awakes in the middle of night and finds a stranger in the bed..just wondering..
A hardcore romantic ( mills & boon lover)might actually like this movie, I did.
Besides, the name of the movie is kinda clever.
