Dear Ashok Vihar Consumer The consumer courts have granted compensation to those who have suffered irregular power cuts or high voltage causing loss to electrical appliances. One needs to keep a chart of power cuts which have not been declared by the NDPL beforehand. Arrange all the documents/b...ills of the burnt appliances. Write a detailed letter to Dist. Office NDPL and explain them your problems. Claim compensation in letter. In case they fail you can knock the doors of the Consumer Court at Shalimar Bagh. In case of harassment through the hands of officer of the NDPL, you can write a letter naming him to the NDPL head office at Hudson Lane. If they fail, you can approach the consumer court and file a complaint against the harassment. Dear Ravi, The grievance against NDPL can be addressed through the CGRF (Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum) or Consumer Courts or Civil Courts. They can also be settled through permanent Lok Adalats at Mata Sundri Lane. However in a case of DAE (meter tempering case whether false or right) can... be addressed through Civil Court or by writ through High Court. If I am not wrong, the bulk of consumer cases are filed against the NDPL and it is the single largest entity defending the consumer cases. The maximum cases are filed in...Read more
