Home > Internet Service Providers > How to choose a Internet Service Provider (ISP)?
Internet Service Provider, an ISP is a firm that offers Internet access and other web services to its customers or subscribed users. An ISP gives the user a private secured Internet account (access to the Internet), e-mail address, webspace and hosting services for a web page. By providing essential software, a password-protected operator account, and a method to link to the internet (e.g., modem), ISPs offer their subscribed users the capability to surf the web and exchange email with other users.
In addition to retaining a direct line to the internet, the firm generally maintains webspace and servers. With the growth of smartphones, many mobile phone providers are also ISPs. ISPs can differ in sizeāsome are operated by one individual, whereas others by large corporations
Almost all Internet Service Providers offer email and web surfing capabilities. They also provide varying degrees of customer support, generally in the form of email IDs and address or user support private hotline. Most ISPs also offer web hosting capabilities, which allows customers to create and retain personal web pages; and some may even provide the service of developing the pages for you i.e. website development. Some ISPs packages offer internet service with other services, such as television and telephone service.
