Of course, from my point of view, I would be happy to win prizes every once in a while.

I'm not necessarily doing this to get paid by mouthshut. If that were so, I would be a mouthshut employee. This is a vocation which may or may not lead to prize money. That's all. Please contact mouthshut for your queries.

I had already decided that I would see this film once they first announced it many years back in late 2009. So, it was great to know it was finally released and I decided to check it out. This was also the first time I saw a film in 4D. I must say it has its appeal on occasions. MAIN CAST: ...Read more

Westernisation is just a term...

(Updated 6 days ago)

We like to call it "westernization" in the sense we are emulating the west and not keeping in touch with our own traditions etc. However, if one gives it a serious thought, we are actually not emulating anybody. We are simply doing what makes sense to us. Why do men and women show an inclination ...Read more

Humans actually hardly ever do parallel processing....

(Updated 23 days ago)

The phrase "parallel processing" is used very loosely in different contexts. It is true that humans have taught machines they built to do certain parallel processing and it is possible for the machines to function like that because we built their parts with that in mind. Whatever electronic control ...Read more

I've been on Jet Airways 5 times in total, first of the experiences being way back in January 2008 via Jet Lite. I saw a film after a reasonably big break by my standards. I was actually drawn to this, thinking it will be an introspection on how certain students evolved in their current lives vis-a-vis their past student lives, as there have been some Hollywood films made with a similar idea in the past, b...Read more

Reading a line about the plot of this film piqued my interest enough about the story and I was also curious how Ajay Devgan would handle such a role. Not having watched a film in around 6 months, I thought I'll see one this weekend. Whereas I didn't necessarily think it was beautiful execution, ...Read more

All men are not created equal... or women for that matter!

Mar 09, 2019 02:28 AM General 81 Views

There's this school of thought that all are equal etc etc. Some people like to drown themselves in such thoughts and generalize like this because it gives them some kind of idealistic comfort. Those people like to say such things because it's the safe thing to say and is instrumental in inciting har...Read more

If one thinks about it, there has always historically been too much importance given to love in our films. Even songs are full of such themes. But in reality is India a place, where those things are happening more? Personally, I've not seen that till date, most people have a mindset here which is no...Read more

Water does not adjust for anybody...

There's this popular saying that water adjusts for everyone and takes shape of whatever it occupies. Hence, it adjusts. But the thing to see here is water spreads wherever it can. It never lets others occupy its space. Invariably, even huge solids placed on water would either sink and decompose, ...Read more

@EarnesTaster: Thanks for your observation about relatively high usage of 'I think'. But I suppose you would've noted that it all lies in the 'user perspective' part, where it's all about the consumer thinking about the product. Not the 'factual part'. For sure, I could've used some othe...r phrase at places. Yes, I did touch upon some details although one could be way, way more detailed. The details I touched upon were necessary to bring out the difference with previous adaptations and why it was better or worse. I don't fault myself for that. One thing it was not though, is 'laboured'. I did it within 2 hours. Maybe 5-6 pages. Yes, I thought about some aspects more in between, which was necessary to understand the film's true quality. Thank you for your opinion.Read More

Hi There! These comments are relevant to your review which is currently posted here at this moment and date. About the language usage, there are some things which a discerning reader would find easily upon reading your review, 'asstute' (2nd para in Trump's review, spelling), 'never mind which... country comes to your mid' ( 'mid' in 2rd para will be 'mind'), bitc (abbreviation or spelling mistake? - 3rd para, not very clear), 'and I can certainly you Putin has no....' (a word or 2 missing in 7th para), 'I mean this whole film in shot in black-'n'-white...' (clearly 'in' should be 'is', 2nd para), 'Mehican' (in 1st para) etc. I'm not here to do a detailed critique. About the approach, while your approach is interesting and something different, the fact that you interrupt parts of the events in the story with the Trump like insights immediately when it occurs, while funny, is also distracting the reader from getting a good grasp about the story at places at one go. I would advise to keep the 2 things apart, for better impact. You can still achieve your main aim. For a movie which you've rated 5/5, you have filled the review up with Trump's insights, mostly. That is hilarious and amusing. But ultimately it may hinder the reader's experience in understanding why it should be given a 5/5. Anyway, I guess I've given you enough insights as to why I had to give it a 'Useful' instead of 'Very Useful' unlike most others who do likewise. Write on. :DRead More
